WHAT IS TAIMU MOUNTAIN GONGMEI?
Gongmei Tea from Taimu Mountain is mainly produced in the Taimu Mountain area of Fuding City, Fujian Province, China. This area is one of the important birthplaces and core production areas of white tea in China. Taimu Mountain has a unique geographical environment and climatic conditions. With a moderate altitude, undulating mountains, a high forest coverage rate, and fertile soil rich in minerals, it provides an ideal natural environment for the growth of tea trees, resulting in the production of high-quality tea leaves.
THE TEA
Compared with other white tea varieties such as Baihao Yinzhen (Silver Needle White Tea) and Bai Mudan (White Peony Tea), the raw materials of Gongmei have a relatively higher degree of bud and leaf maturity. This also endows Gongmei with unique taste and quality characteristics.
This tea features slightly plump and tender tea leaves. The buds and leaves are connected to the branches, without any old stems. The back of the leaves is covered with a lot of fine hairs. Its color is either emerald green or dark green, interspersed with silvery-white bud hairs. As a whole, it presents an attractive combination of green and white colors.
OUR TRUE FEELINGS
It has a rich and mellow taste with a lingering sweetness. The tea soup is smooth when it enters the mouth, with a certain consistency. The flavor is abundant, combining the freshness of new tea and the mellowness of aged tea. It should be noted that when brewing Gongmei Tea, the water temperature is preferably around 90-95℃. The brewing time for the first infusion is approximately 5-10 seconds, and for subsequent infusions, the brewing time can be appropriately extended according to personal taste.
